Australia Day seems to mark the end of the summer holiday & the beginning of the return to our normal routines. The whole GIVIT team is now back on deck & full of enthusiasm for 2014. We’ve got lots of exciting projects to launch this year & we hope that you’ll continue to be part of our GIVIT family.

The Governor-General, Quentin Bryce, used her Australia Day address to highlight the amazing work of carers & volunteers saying:

“Carers, tucked away in quiet corners, offering tender love & respect, day after day, to the frail & vulnerable.
Volunteers – the backbone of our communities & our society.
Using their time & skills for myriad worthy endeavours.
Military, police & emergency services, putting themselves in harms way to protect what we value most.

Ours is a generous country in wealth, in resources, in humanity.
We are strong & vibrant people with a great deal to contribute to every aspect of the life of our nation.
We must continue to respect & embrace each other, & look after our neighbours & neighbourhoods.
We must harness the kindness in our hearts.”
