Australians wanting to assist those affected by the Ravenshoe café explosion are being urged to give via Australian charity GIVIT. In partnership with the Tablelands Regional Council, Ravenshoe Chamber of Commerce and Bendigo Bank, GIVIT is managing all donations of goods, services and money.
Through GIVIT’s website, www.givit.org.au, those wanting to help can do so via a dedicated donation channel which clearly identifies exactly what is needed by those impacted.
People can donate money via GIVIT’s website, in which 100% will go towards purchasing essential items to support the victims and their families as they recover from this tragic event.
Donations are also being accepted over the counter at any Queensland branch of the Bendigo Bank or by making a deposit to the account below. All donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.

GIVIT Founder and CEO, Juliette Wright, said GIVIT channels the generosity of everyday Australians.
“We know Australians are incredibly generous and will want to help this community devastated by the explosion,” Ms Wright said. “GIVIT captures this generosity and lets people know exactly what is required so front line services aren’t inundated with donations they don’t need.
GIVIT is working closely with the Tablelands Regional Council, Ravenshoe Chambers of Commerce and the Ravenshoe Community Centre to ascertain exactly what is needed by the victims and their families.
“Right now families require food vouchers, as well as fuel to cover the costs of travelling to visit loved ones in Cairns and Innisfail hospitals. This will change in the coming days, weeks and months so I encourage everyone to keep an eye on our website www.givit.org.au.”
Tablelands Regional Council Mayor, Rosa Lee Long, said the community is grateful for the support.
“We are grateful for the assistance provided by GIVIT, managing donations for the victims of the tragic fire event in Ravenshoe,” Mayor Long said. “I highly commend their services which provided much needed relief for the Malanda community following the flood event there in February.”
Ms Wright said in addition to money, all offers of donated goods and services are being accepted and managed via the GIVIT website.
“Please lodge your generous donation in GIVIT’s virtual warehouse – the item will remain at your home until the time it is required,” Ms Wright said.
“The online platform removes the need to physically collect, sort and store donations, significantly reducing the administrative and financial burden for on-the-ground charities.
